hobbies
i've recently been pushing myself to get back into photography. i just upgraded to a sony a6400 from my eos 700d, which has given me a boost to keep it up.
i've also been working on a zine with some friends focused on radical politics in the local area. it's been really fun to do some new creative activities as the stuff i'd been doing regularly has gotten a bit boring!
work and volunteering
it's annual reporting season in scouts again and so i've been spending a lot of time producing the report for my district. some delays with other volunteers has been making this more difficult though!
work has been quite slow as of late. we finished up our 25/26 programme with our residential experiences and now there's a long period of data reporting before we start up for the new year. i, however, have no reporting responsibilities and so i've not had much to do.
media
i recently finished playing disco elysium which was really good fun! i feel like i need a bit of a break from gaming now though. screen heavy job then coming home to more screens is tiring. up next will be detroit: become human whenever i get round to it though.
card games have become a staple thanks to this screen avoidance, and that's been great fun! some highlights include dnup and arboretum, as well as classics like gin rummy and cribbage. i really want to try the new catan card game, but it's been tricky to get people together during the uni vacation.
i have also finished interview with a vampire (so good!) and have started the vampire lestat, which i'm not loving as much. i've been reading a game of thrones, but i haven't touched it in a while. i've been meaning to pick it back up.
misc
lots of people have been moving away to bigger cities for work or friendships. it's been tricky to deal with this! making friends when you don't have the structure of uni is really hard.
